Children learn best from a person who inspires them. This can be a problem when a good role model goes bad. For children aged 4-6 Santa can be a great role model for young ones. Santa is emotional, reflects possibility and giving, and there’s an element of joy and laughter. You also don’t need to worry about a celibrity going bad. For these reasons I was really excited to learn about Santa’s Village. Santa’s Village is a new children’s iPhone app by EnsenaSoft that helps teach colors, letters, continents, following instructions and improve memory and concentration. It has hand drawn, computer painted graphics and original folk music. Children, when faced with worthy models, will latch on to them and their ideals, and fully consider them as role models. My son enjoys this app and I don’t have to worry about what Santa might do next year that could be embarrasing.
